Surface runoff is an enormous problem in the City of Philadelphia. When it rain

Surface runoff is an enormous problem in the City of Philadelphia. When it rains in the city water runs down streets, sidewalks, and off parking lots causing our rivers such as the Delaware and Schuylkill to flood. Besides causing flooding, the water also carries with it non-point source pollution such as fertilizers, dog waste, oil, and trash. Philadelphia has begun to charge churches, businesses, and even colleges and universities for the amount of paved or impervious surfaces on their properties. Since this charge has begun, the Community College of Philadelphia has completed major renovations in this department. Many of these upgrades cannot be seen by the eye, but they are there. A couple includes green roofs on the Pavilion and Bonnell buildings and an underground rainwater collection system behind the West building on 18th street. All these additions have lowered the College’s runoff charge.
Your paper should answer the following questions in detail and with a factual basis:
Paper explains the problem of surface runoff in the City of Philadelphia. Including the variable that causes runoff.
Paper explains why the table on the following link is important to understand flooding in Philadelphia and what inferences can be taken by the amount and size of flood events in recent years. https://rclutz.wordpress.com/2019/04/18/urban-flooding-the-philadelphia-story/(Links to an external site.) (Links to an external site.)
Paper gives examples of ways that residents can lower their runoff charges.
Paper gives an opinion supported by facts as to whether the current runoff charge deters residents from paving over surfaces.

Evaluation Title: Environmental Literacy Plan – Phase II
This week you will add to the Environmental Literacy Plan by exploring your community (Atlanta GA) for biomes and biodiversity. You will need to explore your community and take a few pictures to include in your plan. The pictures can be taken by a camera or your cell phone to include in the report.
Biomes:
Explore your community for biomes. Take pictures of a minimum of two (2) biomes. Write a description of the biome and clearly label what type of biome it is. What is the value of the biome to the community?
Biodiversity:
An environment’s biodiversity is determined by the number of different species of plants and animals that inhabit it. The sample size can be as large as a forest or as small as your backyard. It can even be just a handful of earth. Show the biodiversity in your community through a series of images. Take a minimum of five (5) pictures of biodiversity in your community. Discuss the type and what it means to the ecosystem.
While you are out exploring the community, take note of any biodiversity loss in the community. Take two (2) pictures of biodiversity loss in your community. Example: This could be logging of trees for a new housing development or clearing trees for a new store.
Also, discuss:
What is biodiversity?
How do humans’ activities threaten biodiversity?
Are there nature reserves in your community? What are they protecting?
What is the impact of biodiversity in your community?
What steps can you take to protect biodiversity?

Term paper just needs to explain why nuclear energy is the best source of clean

Term paper just needs to explain why nuclear energy is the best source of clean energy (No CO2 or NOx emissions, lots of power produced, power plants can be made anywhere and are not restricted to specific environments etc.). An emphasis needs to be made on how no CO2 and NOx is produced and therefore doesnt contribute to global warming via greenhouse gas production, and how shifting from coal and natural gas energy to nuclear energy may be our best chance of stopping global warming.

Evaluation Title: Environmental Literacy Plan – Phase I
In this first phase of the Environmental Literacy Plan Project, you will be collecting information about your community. The term “community-based environmental protection” clearly implies that it is just that – community-based. It must draw upon the community’s experience and reflect its member’s values and interests. So if you are to develop strategies that address specific environmental concerns, you need to know what those concerns are, why they are important and who considers them important. Use this phase to identify what information will help you understand your community and its interests.
Research the following about your community (A community would be a township, city, town, or village where you live.):
Take five (5) pictures of the environment in your community, including parks, ponds, nature reserves, etc. Label these images with a title and location.
What is the current population of the community? Locate census data for the population of the community over the last 5 years. Plot it on a graph to show how the population has changed over the last 5 years. Based on this information, can you predict what the population will be 5 years from now? Include the prediction on the graph as well.
What is the population per square mile?
Other demographic information to locate includes: Does the community attract a seasonal population (e.g. university students, wintering retirees, or summering vacationers)? Why would this be a danger to the environment of the community? What are the basic population statistics (e.g. size, density, spatial distribution, age distribution, ethnicity, typical family size, and structure) in the community?
How does the demographics of a community affect the environment? Provide three (3) examples.
How would you describe the economic health and vitality of the community (e.g. what is the average per capita income)?
Using Google Earth, locate your community. Take a screenshot of your community from an aerial view. Mark the habitats on the map. Make note of habitat degradation, fragmentation, and destruction.
Does your community have an environment center or group? Make sure to note their information and what they do for the community.
Are there community events in your area (or surrounding area)? Trash pickups in community areas, leaf pickup, mandatory recycling, etc.
Do a local media search to see what types of environmental issues have been covered. Include a summary of three (3) articles that you find and describe the nature of those issues.
What is the impact of the choices of the community on the habitats and environment around you?
Format this information using the template provided or create your own template. You may also modify the template layout as long as it meets all of the assignment requirements.
Validate your statements and opinions with supporting evidence (citations and references) in APA form.
