Critical Thinking Assignment (70 Points)
Important! Read First
Choose one of the following two assignments to complete this week. Do not complete both assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your submission. Note that, while there are two options for the Critical Thinking Assignment, there is only one rubric. Review the rubric to confirm you are meeting the assignment requirements.
All assignments will be submitted through Turnitin.com and checked for similarity to previously published assignments, The paper can’t have a similarity score greater than 30% for the total paper, the total amount of direct quotes can’t be greater than 20%, and each individual source can’t be greater than 10%.
Option #2: The Global Impact of Tourism
The field of tourism has become of great importance to cities, states, and countries. Some countries rely, to a great degree, on the generation of tourist dollars. For this reason, host countries spend billions to create a market that tourists want to visit. Many cities (and every state of the United States) have tourism boards to do exactly that. In this 3-4 page paper, discuss the following:
Assess the global impact of tourism, including the total value of tourism, the number of those employed by the tourism industry, and its future potential.
Choose one country that you find interesting or plan to visit. Explain the economic impact tourism has had on that country.
Describe the strategies/actions that your chosen country has taken to increase its tourism.
Identify current challenges, and potential solutions, that exist.
Finally, assess the negative aspects of tourism, and how your chosen country has tried to mitigate the negative impact that tourism may have on it.
Your paper should be 3-4 pages in length (excluding cover page and references) and formatted according to APA format. Be sure to discuss and reference concepts taken from the assigned textbook reading and relevant research. You must include a minimum of three credible, academic or professional references beyond the text or other course materials. Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.
Be sure to check out the Hospitality and Tourism Management Guide in the course information folder. There you can:
Locate a variety of information sources that deal with hospitality, tourism, and management.
Gather industry information specific to different aspects of hospitality or tourism.
Find writing and citing help.
Choose one of the state destination marketing organizations (DMOs) below. These states have the easiest access to such things as marketing plans and tourism research and statistics:
Montana: Montana Office of Tourism Intranet,
Oregon: Travel Industry,
Nevada: Industry Partners,
Kentucky: Industry Partners,
Michigan: Michigan Tourism Strategic Plan,
Wisconsin: Industry Partners,
South Carolina: Industry Resources,
Iowa: Industry Partners, and
West Virginia: Industry Info.
Each state website has a link included geared toward the traveler. These links may be at the very top or very bottom of the page indicated.
For the first part of the assignment, analyze the attractions of the state. You will need to review the chapter in the textbook on attractions. Using the content, draw conclusions about the focus of the DMO’s efforts. For example, every state has a travel guide and other items to facilitate travel to the particular state geared toward the individual traveler. The trade, meeting planners, tour operators, and incentives also have targeted brochures.
Describe the attractions/entertainment in the state.
Identify the brand for the state, and highlight how the destination is focusing on this brand. For instance, the brand for North Carolina is “Deeper Connections.”
Finally, investigate the individual traveler, industry, and trade to find how the state addresses this brand. How does the DMO market to the individual and trade? Identify key marketing, management, and financial issues facing their operations.
Your response should be a minimum of three pages in length, double-spaced. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations and be cited per APA guidelines.

The report will be a maximum of 2,500 words (excluding appendices and
bibliography) and must be submitted electronically using Turnitin via Blackboard
(see below for more details). NB: You may use the same experience that you discussed in your first
submission. Please read through the feedback for that submission to
understand what you need to do to improve your grade and skills. (I failed the first submission and this is the makeup for it so I really need to pass. I will attach my old essay which i failed and its feedback to help with the writing of this one, alongside all the information they’ve given us and please let me know if you have any questions.)
Requirements: 2,500 words
Is a 5 pages research paper based on the presentation attached. The presentation is about France and the paper should be based on the presentation.
The below points has to be about France.
There are 5 main points that I have to write about (see attached the “general framework document”)
4. Tourism regions of the country, the spatial concentration of tourism – major destinations (2 regions is enough, you may choose 2 of them from the ppt. attached)
5. Introduction and characteristics of the major tourism products of the country
6. Introduction to the tourism policy of the country (state level – government / regional level – destination management organisations / local level – destination management organisations)
8. SWOT Analysis of France (is not necesarrly to contain the exact information from the presentation)
If you were the President of the San Diego Tourism Authority, how would
you go about evaluating satisfaction levels of tourists visiting the
region? Which technique of satisfaction measurement would be the most
adequate? Describe this technique? Why should international tourist
complaints not always be used in assessing their vacation satisfaction?
Discuss how the SERVQUAL and CRM models can combine and work together to improve tourism service delivery. According to Masberg and colleagues, “to the customer, only service may distinguish a business from its competition” (Masberg, Chase, & Madlem, 2003, p. 19). While specific customer service jobs require different skills, building an overall customer-oriented organization may better meet customer expectations. Businesses can choose to implement tools to determine customer satisfactions levels, such as the SERVQUAL technique that compares customer perceptions of quality against customer expectations (Morrison, 2010). The text explores the reasons good customer service is critical to our industry. And with the acronym RATER, we now understand the basics of what a customer might expect from an organization. Together, these concepts can form the basis of a customer relationship management (CRM) strategy for tourism and hospitality businesses.

All information you are to make decisions on must be in the

if you are given a real world company and asked which
direction they should
take, the direction should be based off information only given in the
